On September 13, at around 7 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Truslow Road, where they found 32-year-old James Stidham in an argument with a witness, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
The witness told police that Stidham chased a resident into their home and attempted to break down the door of the dwelling, officials reported.
Police said Stidham admitted to attempting to break in, and added that he had taken a controlled substance before the break-in.
When officers searched the suspect's vehicle, they found controlled substances and three concealed firearms, officials said.
Stidham was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, destruction of property, and other related offenses, authorities said.
He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond, law enforcement said.
